Reality Leaves a Lot to the Imagination

Solitaire, 30 x 30

Love that John Lennon quote!  Study here was done in close values and colors, with a bit of directional movement.  I am trending that way, wonder where it will lead; this painting adventure is something else, non?

  1. Your flowers- particularly roses are just so beautiful and a favorite of mine. I was studying this one and then noticed the size. Sweet! Must be gorgeous in person- wow! Love the close values and colors- just really reads so elegantly and soft. I learned to paint roses yesterday in art class and loved it- worked on the shadows:) Who knew? This is marvelous Nancy- LOVE IT!!

  2. What can I say after I say "beautiful"? The shadow and reflection add so much to the composition. I really like the highlights on the glass, especially the blue one on the bottom right. Really beautiful painting, Nancy. And thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and commenting. That was a nice surprise.
